The Catalytic Carbon used in this cartridge contains Calgon Centaur™ Carbon. This is a specially enhanced carbon developed through an advanced process starting as Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) to reduce chloramines. In combination with KDF media to significantly extend the life of filter cartridges. KDF-55 media reduces Heavy metals by the redox process and filtration. Both KDF redox media are bacteriostatic and inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the filter.
Stabilized KDF 55:
KDF media pretreatment of granular activated carbon extends the carbon's life and limits bacteria growth in the beds.
Use of Centaur Calgon:
Centaur Calgon cartridge achieves greater degree of contaminant removal at reduced cost.
Oversized Cartridge For Maximum Media Fill:
These cartridges have up to 50% higher capacity and extend cartridge life, due to the use of larger cartridges.

Recent Purchase
We recently purchased a replacement filter and the overall process was very easy. My only issue is what I consider a very expensive shipping cost. Shipping cost should not necessarily be about half to the cost of the purchased item. I think you need to get a more reasonable price structure for shipping.
