This coconut shell granular activated carbon (GAC) is used in combination with KDF media to significantly extend the life of filter cartridges. KDF-55 media is a redox media that removes chlorine, and reduces heavy metals. Both KDF redox media are bacteriostatic and inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the filter.
Stabilized KDF 55:
KDF media pretreatment of granular activated carbon extends the carbon's life and limits bacteria growth in the beds.
Acid Washed Coconut Shell Carbon:
Acid washing removes ash content, prevents pH spiking and adds approximately 5% more capacity to carbon media.
Oversized Cartridge For Maximum Media Fill:
These cartridges have up to 50% higher capacity and extend cartridge life, due to the use of larger cartridges.

To ensure consistent quality and peace of mind for the consumer all drinking water media are WQA Gold Seal or NSF certified. Cartridges are manufactured by ResinTech. Strict quality control over all aspects of production allows complete traceability of every cartridge.

KDF-55/GAC
Like most of us on municipal water, my water is toxic. These filters are amazing. Water is clean and no odors. I have a 4 stage and the service representative helped me understand my water quality and explained how I could improve my water. The call was extremely valuable and am thankful for her insight. O-rings
I have been ordering filters and their replacements from Ion Faucets for many years. This last go-round, my husband noticed that the o-ring on one of the filter cases needed replacement. When I called your company, I was told it would cost $2.49 per o-ring, plus shipping to replace those, which is quite a mark-up from what that would cost at a local hardware store. Why would you over charge a steady, longterm customer?

Water filter cartridge
Great filter, we use it in our "3 Stage Below Counter Filtration System". We have used this system for nearly 4 years now. It filters our water, taking toxins and fluoride out of our cold water leaving it crystal clear, fresh smell and tastes great! Changing the filters is a breeze. We would highly recommend this system!
